Preventive veterinary care at home

Pet vaccinations at home in Amsterdam and Amstelveen

Keep your pet’s preventive care up to date without a stressful trip to the clinic.

Vaccinations and routine health checks at home

HomeVet provides vaccinations and preventive care for dogs, cats, rabbits and certain other companion animals throughout our service area.

The veterinarian reviews your pet’s health, lifestyle and vaccination history before recommending appropriate care. This makes the visit more than an injection: it is also an opportunity to identify concerns early and ask questions about your pet’s wellbeing.

Which pets can be vaccinated at home?

HomeVet provides vaccinations for dogs, cats and rabbits, subject to a veterinary assessment. We also offer puppy and kitten consultations and can help you understand the preventive-care schedule appropriate to your animal’s age, health, lifestyle and travel plans.

Requirements vary between pets. An indoor cat, a dog that travels abroad and a rabbit with outdoor access may need different protection. The veterinarian will advise you based on current guidance and your pet’s individual risk.

A health check before vaccination

Vaccination is often combined with a clinical examination. The veterinarian checks your pet’s general condition and discusses recent changes in appetite, behaviour, mobility, medication or health.

If your animal is unwell or vaccination is not advisable that day, the veterinarian will explain the safest next step.

Preventive care throughout life

Puppies and kittens

A home consultation can cover growth, nutrition, parasite prevention, behaviour, microchipping and the many questions that arise when a new animal joins the family.

Please provide any breeder, shelter or previous veterinary records.

Adult pets

Vaccinations and health reviews are tailored to lifestyle, medical history and individual risk rather than treating every animal in exactly the same way.

Senior pets

Preventive care continues throughout life. We can discuss which vaccinations remain appropriate and whether additional age-related checks should be considered.

Travel vaccinations and documentation

If you plan to travel abroad, contact HomeVet well in advance. Requirements can depend on your destination, means of travel and departure date. Bring your pet passport and existing vaccination records to the appointment.

We will help you prepare

Owners remain responsible for checking the current official entry requirements for their destination, but we will assist you as much as possible in understanding them and preparing the vaccinations and veterinary documentation within our scope.

Preparing for the home visit
