Veterinary care at home

Mobile vet care in Amsterdam and Amstelveen

Professional veterinary care in familiar surroundings, without the stressful journey to a clinic.

A qualified veterinarian comes to you

HomeVet brings an experienced veterinarian to your home, allowing your pet to be examined in familiar surroundings while saving you the stress and time of travelling to a practice.

Our independent mobile veterinary service covers Amsterdam, Amstelveen and the surrounding area. You can book a home visit online for routine care, health concerns, vaccinations and a range of other veterinary services.

Veterinary care in your pet’s own environment

A home visit can make veterinary care calmer and more convenient for pets and their families. There is no carrier or car journey, no unfamiliar waiting room and less disruption to your pet’s normal routine.

Being at home also gives the veterinarian useful context. We can observe how your pet moves and behaves in its usual environment and discuss diet, medication, daily habits and symptoms without the pressure of a busy clinic visit.

If you are unsure whether a home visit is suitable, contact us with a short description of your pet’s condition. We will advise whether HomeVet can help at home or whether clinic-based care is more appropriate.

What can a mobile vet help with?

Consultations and health checks

General consultations, physical examinations, annual reviews and advice tailored to your pet’s age and health.

Vaccinations and preventive care

Vaccinations, puppy and kitten care, microchipping and preventive-care guidance at home.

Common health concerns

Assessment of skin, ear, mobility and digestive concerns, together with nutritional and medication advice.

Samples and minor treatments

Blood or urine sampling, nail care and selected minor treatments when the veterinarian considers these appropriate at home.

Senior and quality-of-life care

Support for older or less-mobile pets, including quality-of-life discussions and palliative-care guidance.

End-of-life support

Compassionate guidance and euthanasia at home when this is the kindest option.

Some conditions require imaging, hospitalisation, surgery or other clinic facilities. If this applies, the veterinarian will explain the next step and help you find appropriate care.

Common questions

Is a mobile vet a regular veterinarian?

Yes. A mobile veterinarian is a qualified veterinarian who examines and treats pets at the client’s home. The main difference is the appointment location and the amount of clinic equipment available on site.

Do you treat cats and dogs at home?

Yes. Home visits are available for cats and dogs, as well as certain rabbits, birds and small pets. Contact us if you are unsure whether we can treat your animal at home.

Can the veterinarian bring medication?

The veterinarian can discuss and provide or prescribe appropriate medication depending on the examination and your pet’s needs.

How quickly can I book?

Book online at least 48 hours ahead where possible. For a shorter-notice request, call HomeVet. Availability depends on the existing route and appointments.
